“May you get what you wish for” - Old Yiddish curse

“WE CAN ONLY KNOW WHAT WE CAN TRULY IMAGINE. FINALLY WHAT WE SEE COMES FROM OURSELVES” ― MARGE PIERCY

A lonely doll maker discovers his latest creation has come to life. He can finally have the perfect woman who can be everything he has been dreaming of: mother, lover, confidant….

But his joy turns to fear as he realizes that his doll is hell-bent on destroying her creator.

DIRECTOR'S NOTES

Growing up in the Soviet Union, I had dramatic, first-hand experience of the brutal gulf between what Utopian thinking promises and what it actually delivers. In the notion of a perfect society lies the necessity of the outsider who stands in opposition to that vision.

On an individual level, our private fantasies tease us with the promise of blissful release from our myriad contradictions. I wanted to make a short, humorous piece about the dangers of falling for our own internally generated propaganda and the inevitable disappointment that ensues when we do.
